My review for The Arrangement 13:
I just want to start off by saying I love that at the start of the book we are seeing through Sean’s eyes and mind for once. It was a nice change up to get perspective on him.
The book starts where #12 left us wondering who was outside that window watching the two of them getting their freak on. Last we knew she was pressed up against the window with Sean behind her when she seen something reflect outside in the dark.
Avery was very lucky that Sean had a fast reaction when he processed the words that came out of her mouth. Sean threw them both to the floor just in time as the window shattered from a bullet.
This proves she was right to feel paranoid and like she was being watched. Someone really is out to kill her.
Of course Sean being Sean wants to take matters into his own hands. So he hands Avery a gun. Not just any gun. It was the gun that killed his wife. Avery knows this and is a little freaked out. Sean leaves her there with instructions to shoot if someone comes in after her. She proceeds to put the gun down because she is freaked out. And wouldn’t you know someone comes in after her! At this point I was thinking “what is wrong with her!” If someone is trying to kill me I would of held on tight to that gun and been aimed and ready! Obviously she makes it out alive but does the shooter? And who is he?
We also get a surprise guest in this book. Seans cousin Bryan Ferro in all his hotness. He is there to help get Sean and Avery fixed up after all that broken glass incident. Of course there is always tension between all the Ferro family men. But the way Bryan introduces them to the Dr is hysterical.
After getting stitches and pain medicine they head back to Avery’s dorm room. Sean feels this will be the safest place for now. Then the knock at the door comes. It’s just a delivery man but the knock left Avery jumpy and on the edge. Sean is up to something! He has something delivered to her. I can’t tell you what it is but it’s a great surprise when she figures out what it is. After having some fun with his engagement gift things take a 360 degree turn. Emotions run high with Avery after her idea of offering Sean a romp she knew he wouldn’t refuse. It passes her safety zone in her mind and she starts to freak. Sean too realizes he may have pushed her over the edge slightly.
While trying to get Sean to open up about what has made him angry over the emotional romp in the box he declares no more sex until they can work this out.
While playing a game of Monopoly they hear someone at the door, the metal of a key being inserted into the lock. While Sean hides in the closet Avery pretends not to be bothered about who is coming in the door Even though inside she is going nuts wanting to know who it is.
The answer of who it is will leave you asking many questions. So many questions for Black, so many more for Sean. This cliffhangers is the mountain of all cliffhangers. I think it’s the biggest one yet in this series.
This latest installment was great, it was one I couldn’t put down. I felt like I was there along in the story. The last chapter is an entire cliffhanger in itself. Now I have more questions than ever. The Arrangement 14 can’t get here fast enough that’s for sure.
